It wasn't until high school that Edna and Worth realized
they shared more than just a similar class schedule. They had known eachother for so long, but now they saw one another
in a completely different light. They fell in love.
The start of World War II was the first great test the couple would endure.
Worth was drafted and sent overseas in 1942, while Edna attended business school. Edna was Worth's passion and
motivation throughout the deployment. He wrote her every chance he could. "I would receive the most romantic letters,
anywhere from Louisiana, to North Africa...even Italy", said Edna. They corresponded by letter, and occasionally by
phone, for three years.
